Diaspora, Society & Communication

Central in my activities lays my strong involvement and concern in social issues. I support
and help initiatives that are important to me and people around me. The following is part of
projects I participated in:

Dutch school in Thessaloniki - "De Kikkertjes"

1999 - 2000

Advisor for the programme «adapting and assessing existing teaching materials»
of the Dutch school in Thessaloniki “De Kikkertjes”. Teaching Dutch to children in
classes 6 en 7 and participation in the seminars of NOB (Dutch Education
Abroad) in the Netherlands.

Greek school in Utrecht "Odysseas"

2011 - 2014

Member of the parent council of the Greek school in Utrecht; the greatest
challenge was to save the school from being closed by organizing a benefit
concert.

New Diaspora

2013 - today

Translator of Greek and English articles for the online platform about the recent
Greek New Diaspora.

Alpe d’Huzes – KWF Cancer Research - Utrecht Medical Centre

2011

Freelancer of the communication team for the pilot project of the Cancer Centre
at the University Medical Centre of Utrecht (UMCU) financed by Alpes d’Huzes,
that collects money for cancer research.

Hospital Bronovo - The Hague

2011

Freelancer for the hospital's communication team, for the needs of the expat
community in The Hague.

TheMA - (The Mobility Agency) - Thessaloniki

1998 - 2000

Owner of the first expat service provider in Thessaloniki and founder of an
agency; its main activities being: translations, personal coaching of foreign
expats, helping expats to find schools for their children as well as
accommodation, personal guidance in the city of Thessaloniki and vicinity. My
clients included employees of the Dutch Consulate, the French Institute, the
American College, the European Institute Cedefop, estate agents, lawyers etc.
